Patty Jarmy is a textile fiber artist whose work explores textiles as wearable art and one-of-a-kind pieces. With an academic foundation that spans continents and disciplines, Patty holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kodolanyi Janos College in Budapest, Hungary and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Textiles from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco. This unique combination of economic insight and design training shapes her distinctive approach—balancing creative expression with a deep understanding of how things are made.
With over a decade of experience in fabric sourcing, Patty worked closely with factories around the world—including in India, Peru, China, and Indonesia—to develop specialty textiles and bring garments to life. This background gives her a practical fluency in the full lifecycle of a textile—from fiber to finished product—which continues to inform her studio practice today. Her work reflects not only aesthetic intention, but also a grounded knowledge of materials, construction, and the realities of the supply chain.
